Scary Vikings

They Are back Did you know that the Vikings were sea-borne Scandinavians and had a reputation as fearsome warriors. The Vikings left their homelands and travelled into Europe including Britain and Ireland. Their name ‘Viking’ comes from a language called ‘old norse’ which means ‘a pirate raid.’ Those who went off raiding and collecting wealth from ships were said to be ‘going viking.’ You too could be a Viking during the week of the Viking Festival from the 14th – 22nd of February 2015.
