Hello and welcome everyone to our April Blog 2014. Well its that time of year again and we all thinking of chocolate !!!!!! Here in York we have our Chocolate Festival which always proves to be very popular and I wonder why !!!! So if you love chocolate like us here at Gregory’s !!!!!! then this Festival is for you.

Thought we would tempt your taste buds !!!!!! We make our own breads jams and marmalade here at our bed and breakfast here in york. So a full english followed by homemade bread and a selection of our homemade jams and marmalade what could be more yummy !!!!! We offer our Guests the traditional breakfasts here at Gregory’s but also lighter options for those Guests who prefer an alternative to the full english. Every year The York Racecourse hosts The Model Railway Exhibition. Its such a great event for those of you who have model railways and just love trains in general. Of course you also get the added bonus of seeing the Racecourse in its full glory and just appreciate the size of the course. We are only a 10 minute walk to the Racecourse for the races and The Model Railway Exhibition. If Vintage is your thing then you are in the right City. York is proud to host our   annual Vintage Festival its such a great event and very nostalgic too. There will be everything from clothing accessories to vehicles. We have some great vintage shops here in York so for a great shopping experience of old and new York has it all. Did you know that York is surrounded by the finest remaining medieval walls in England. Its amazing to think that they were built during the thirteenth and fourteenth centuries and are two miles in length. They are a great way to see our City and explore parts of York you may not have even thought about. So get your walking shoes on grab your camera and take a tour of our beautiful City of York along our Medieval walls. The City walks can be accessed within ten minutes from us here at our bed and breakfast in York its a great way to walk into the City.

On the theme of history in the Deans Park adjacent to York Minster there is an amazing plaque it reads: King Richard the III invested his son as Prince Of Wales 8th of Sept 1483 how amazing is that.  York has such a wealth of history its great that it is shared with everyone. So for a unique break in our ‘open air museum’ York must be on your top destination. The Grand Opera House is proud to announce that Joe Brown will be back. Goldfrapp will be at The York Barbican this April. Twelfth Night and Mozarts Magic Flute will be at The York Theatre Royal.
