Gary Verity The Chief Executive of Welcome To Yorkshire Came to Bishyrd on the 23rd of March to unveil our noticeboard on Bishyrd. As well as this he also presented Johnny Haynes with an award for Outstanding Volunteering for his support and commitment to our community – Bishyrd. At The National Railway Museum

Churchill’s Final Journey The NRM here in York is proud to announce that to mark the 50th anniversary of Sir Winston Churchill’s state funeral visitors will be able to see this historic train . It will be displayed alongside the baggage van which carried Churchill’s coffin and the Pullman carriage Lydia that carried his family. Its a special time for the NRM as its the first time since the state funeral that all these carriages have come together.We should give thanks to friends of the National Railway Museum for their restoration of both the 34051 and the baggage van as these could not have been completed without their support.
